What is ElevateHer?

ElevateHer is an ACI Africa flagship scholarship initiative designed to strengthen gender inclusion and professional capacity within African airports.

The programme provides targeted access to certified training and leadership development opportunities for women airport professionals, supporting career progression in technical, operational, and management roles.

What ElevateHer delivers

Through a structured scholarship framework, ElevateHer provides:

• Full coverage of tuition fees for selected ACI Africa training courses
• Access to certified technical, operational, and leadership programmes
• Targeted support aligned with airport operational priorities
• Recognition and visibility of women professionals across the region

Who is it for?

ElevateHer is designed for:

• Women employed by ACI Africa member airports
• Entry-level, mid-career, and supervisory professionals
• Women working in under-represented domains such as:
Airside operations
Safety and security
Engineering and maintenance
Executive and senior management

Applicants must be endorsed by their airport management.

How the scholarship works

ElevateHer follows a transparent, merit-based process:

• 1. Annual Call for Applications issued to member airports
• 2. Submission of applications and management endorsement
• 3. Evaluation by an ACI Africa-appointed committee
• 4. Selection and official announcement of beneficiaries

ACI Africa covers training fees, while member airports support travel and subsistence where applicable.

Participating airports will:

• Increase women's participation in professional training
• Strengthen internal technical and leadership capacity
• Support succession planning and gender-inclusive policies
• Build a network of trained women professionals across Africa
